Priorities

Whether you moved here last summer or you’re one of the families who called Fredericksburg home in 1846, we can all agree that Fredericksburg is a special place for people of all ages to live. Careful considerations are needed to prioritize what helps our residents thrive.

PUBLIC SAFETY

If we’re not safe, not much else matters. Since being elected, I have fought for critical funding for the men and women of our Police, Fire, and EMS Departments in their crucial roles to keep us safe. And we should be able to safely enjoy our community together: we shouldn’t have to choose between getting around town and spending time outdoors, so I’m cultivating several public private partnerships to achieve better, safer outdoor spaces, while working to increase our network of trails and sidewalks across town.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Safe roadways, quality water supply, and high functioning public utilities are all important components of our city’s infrastructure that I will continue to prioritize and seek grant funding to accomplish. It’s important, because the integrity of our infrastructure can bring neighborhoods together, promote healthy lifestyles, and sets us up well for many years to come.

RESPONSIBLE GROWTH

Fredericksburg is special and I want to keep it that way. As we encounter the potential for increased population growth, we need to encourage quality developments that are a right fit for Fredericksburg. That water conservation is prioritized as a part of our permitting processes. That we protect the beauty of our trees, landscapes, and natural resources. It can be done: we can preserve the small-town charm of our town, maintain our epic hospitality, and responsibly manage growth within our city limits.
